des Life Balls
Im Jahr 1993 feierte der
Life Ball
seine Premiere. Der Reinerlös
des ersten Life Balls betrug eine
Million Schilling. Ein damals
unerwarteter Erfolg, der alle
Vorstellungen sprengte.Von da
an stieg der Erlös kontinuierlich
jährlich und betrug 2008 bereits
1,4 Millionen Euro. Ohne die
finanziellen Zuwendungen aus
dem Erlös des Life Balls könnten
viele Vereine und Initiativen,
die sich in ihrer Arbeit um HIV-
Positive und an Aids erkrankte
Menschen kümmern, nicht
existieren – oder wären erst gar
nicht ins Leben gerufen worden.
Nationale
Projekte
Die Hälfte vom Reinerlös des Life
Balls kommt österreichischen
Organisationen zugute.
Den Großteil erhalten die
Aidshilfen in Wien und den
Bundesländern für ihre Arbeit.
Sie sind maßgeblich für
Information und Prävention
verantwortlich.

FOUNDATION
FOR AIDS RESEARCH
Seit dem Jahr 2006 wurde
die Kooperation von Aids
Life mit amfAR maßgeblich
erweitert und erreicht
damit eine noch größere
Dimensionen wie die von
2001 bis 2005 bestehende
Zusammenarbeit mit der Elton
John Aids Foundation (EJAF).
„TREAT Asia“
ist ein Netzwerk aus
Kliniken, Krankenhäusern
und Forschungsinstituten.
Die Haupt-aufgabe dieses
Netzwerks besteht in der
Sicherstellung einer effektiven
und sicheren Versorgung mit
HIV/Aids-Be-handlungen in
Asien und dem Süd-Pazifik.

CRYSTAL OF
HOPE
Dieser Award soll Menschen
motivieren, ihren Kampf gegen
HIV und Aids fortzusetzen,
wobei der Kristall als Symbol
für jene Energie und Kraft
steht, die der Ausgezeichnete
für sein weiteres Engagement
braucht. Die damit verbundene
Geldsumme ermöglicht die
Unterstützung eines konkreten
Projekts und wird einem
Groundworker von einem
Weltstar als Wertschätzung
für diese wichtige Arbeit
übergeben. Der
Life Ball Crystal
of Hope
ist mit 100.000,- Euro
dotiert und wird seit 2005
in Kooperation mit der Firma
Swarovski vergeben.

Projekt „Yier Nigma“ – was
soviel heißt wie „entscheide
dich fürs Leben“ – verliehen.

In 1993 the
Life Ball
celebrated
its premiere.The net profit of
the first
Life Ball
was one million
Austrian Schillings.This was a
surprising success, exceeding
all expectations. From then on
the net profit continuously rose
every year and totalled 1.4
million Euros in 2008.Without
the financial contribution from
Life Ball
’s net profit numerous
associations and initiatives,
caring for people affected with
HIV/Aids, could not exist – or
even would have never been
founded.
